Now that you have had an opportunity to review key aspects of high-quality activities and how to make an activity matrix, let’s consider a few things you might apply in your classroom.
- First – do you want to review or change any of your classroom activities?
- If yes, use our Activity Planning Checklist and Reflective Questions Guide. Make a plan for how you can change your activities to include additional quality features. Use your practice guide (pages 41-45) to help you.
- If no, think about how you might monitor children’s engagement across activities to give you more information about which types of experiences or activities (e.g., child, peer, teacher) need to be blended to promote optimal learning for each child.
Second – do you want to create or revise the activity matrix in your classroom?
- If yes, check out the following pages of your Practice Guide for more information about the activity matrix (pages 48-52). Share your new activity matrix with your coach.
- If no, make a plan for how you will share the activity matrix with your team. Tell your coach about your plan.
